The book Learning to Live Again by Terence T. Gorski, Merlene Miller and David Miller book is designed as a recovery manual for recovering people and their families. 

This home study course has taken a complex disease process and presented it in a simple format.  The course covers forms of chemical dependency as a brain disease that causes personality problems and social dysfunction.  An examination of the progressive physical, psychological, and social symptoms of addiction. Special emphasis in placed upon understanding why these symptoms are so easy to deny and so difficult to recognize and accept.   Learning to Live Again is used as a basis for patient education programs to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the disease and recovery process.
