Course Description:  Personal problems of counselors often stemming from unresolved issues from childhood that drive them to help others for all the wrong reasons can and do interfere with patient care and efficient operation of treatment programs.  In an effort to recover, some segments of the codependence field have developed in isolation from established psychological and family therapy. This home study course offers therapists and counselors an understanding of definitions and treatment methods for codependency issues and how they relate to psychological theories and techniques.  The required reading material ìThe Codependent Counselorî offers concrete recommendations for how treatment centers and individual therapists can effectively address the problem of codependence.
